Surgical Services
We offer a variety of surgical services within our practice. Prior to every surgery, we perform all patients will be required to have a comprehensive exam to discuss the surgery and surgical options. Once it is decided to schedule the surgery we will provide a written estimate to ensure transparency of cost and discuss any follow-up care that may be required. Often times we will complete the pre-operative lab work at that visit, or we will schedule a technician appointment prior to the surgery date.
We perform pre-anesthetic blood testing on all animals prior to surgery. This allows us to evaluate liver and kidney function and other blood markers to confirm your pet is safe to go under anesthesia. During your pet’s procedure, they will be continuously monitored by equipment, and a skilled surgical technician watching blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation, body temperature, and respiration.
After surgery, we will continue to monitor your pet’s condition and administer pain control measures when appropriate. Veterinary medicine has evolved tremendously over recent years and there are many ways to manage any pain associated with surgery. If your pet’s health condition would benefit from specialist care, we can help with referrals.
